I avoid phone calls where at all possible, but because, like you say, I’d have to set aside time to give my undivided attention to that person.

Time I usually don’t have. It’s sad really.

I remember as a child using the house phone to call my friends and chat, even though we’d spent all day together at school. Obviously I’d have to speak to their parents first and ask if my friend was in 🤯. It still baffles my children that mobile phones weren’t invented when I was their age 🤣

I was the same growing up! It always felt a bit risky because there was no way to pre-warn the person you were going to call... nowadays, even if I do call a friend, it's always scheduled. Do you do the same? We'll send 20 WhatsApp messages organising a good time for the phone call. Even seconds before the scheduled time I'll message and check it's OK to call. I just need to bite the bullet and try people but I don't want to catch them off-guard. It's all become a lot more complicated since house phones were the only option!

Yes! I always text beforehand to ask if it’s ok to ring. I have no idea why. Maybe I feel like I’m bothering them with a phone call? I’m not sure but yes, I always ask permission to call or FaceTime someone 🤣
